Tradebe USA
Tradebe, an environmental services company with facilities nationwide, asked us to reposition them online to reflect their emphasis on technologies for recovery and reuse of hazardous materials. The redesign provides an improved platform for marketing their services, including the buying and selling of recycled chemicals, and the use of a content management system gives their sales and marketing staff editorial control. They also use the site to promote classroom and online training programs, and are saving significant time through the integration of a third-party service for managing recruiting processes and reports.
KONE Wellness Portal
KONE is a leading global manufacturer and installer of elevators and escalators. The company launched an innovative wellness program in the U.S. to measurably improve employee health and thus control healthcare costs paid by employees and the company.
Since the site provides access to personal health data, confidentiality and data security are a major focus for the company and for participants. Quicksilver refreshes the site database on a weekly basis. Employees view their updated personal data in a secure page to which only they have access.
The use of Single Sign-On functionality enables registered users to seamlessly move from the wellness site to a related secure site without having to log in a second time.
Cunard
For a decade, Quicksilver was the primary Web services agency for Cunard, building and maintaining separate but related web sites in four countries – the U.S. the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia. The sites were high-volume properties, reflecting both the loyalty and enthusiasm of the Cunard customer base and their high-profile role in generating revenue. Events such as new ship launches create massive spikes in traffic.
The sites were huge. Components included mini-sites for specific topics such as the annual World Voyage, with detailed information on itineraries and pricing; promotional landing pages; interactive deck plan appliations designed and programmed in Flash; and right from the start, a content management system with modules customized for the cruise industry to enable Cunard staff to edit the site.
Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church
Fair Oaks is a congregation in Oak Park, Illinois. When Fair Oaks commissioned us to redesign the church website, they were looking for an updated look and feel that would help them to attract new members, and a navigation solution that would make it easy for existing members to find information despite close to 100 pages of content.
Controlling maintenance costs was also important, which made a content management solution essential. We integrated QuickFlex.NET, which is Quicksilver’s hosted CMS solution. Another part of the efficiency of the solution is represented by the integration of Google Calendar, a free tool, to manage event information.
Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC)
The Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) is the largest and most successful organization of its kind in the United States. The size of the site, and a busy calendar of events from regular workshops to the annual conference, make frequent site updates by WBDC staff essential.
WBDC asked Quicksilver to create a more contemporary and feminine design, working with an existing brand that includes a strong color palette. Based on user research, we also restructured the site to serve several distinct audiences. The site integrates with an event registration system we had built previously, and with a shopping cart .
The result is a site that is readily expandable, and oriented to the most important audiences. WBDC staff are able to post new workshops and make daily changes.
Academy of General Dentistry Consumer Portal
Quicksilver conceptualized, planned and designed this completely new consumer-oriented site. AGD is a large membership organization with an educational mission, but is not well known among consumers. The Academy’s goal is for the site to become the go-to location online for consumers seeking information about dental and oral health.
It therefore had to be engaging and provide easy access to AGD’s considerable archive of articles and other information. One of the features that Quicksilver developed is a downloadable desktop widget – an application that can function as an appointments diary on the family computer as well as providing links back to the site’s rich content.
MWM Consulting Group
Once again, it’s content management as a high priority. Smaller firms like MWM like the ‘hands-free’ approach to their online location – able to change content at a moment’s notice, but happy to let Quicksilver take care of everything else, from refreshing the visual design to hosting the site. The recent site update made use of some of our pre-built components such as menus and page templates but still delivers the customized, professional look and feel that MWM asked us for.
Sassetti LLC
Sassetti is a full-service Certified Public Accounting Firm founded 90 years ago. In their 89th year they went through a complete image makeover, redesigning their brand and updating their website. Quicksilver is fully familiar with CPA firm, through relationships such as the one we have had for more than 10 years with BDO, and we were able to streamline the website design and development process by some of that industry familiarity. As with most of the sites we build, this one has a content management system which gives Sassetti staff the ability to manage the content themselves.
HBLA, Certified Public Accountants
HBLA is a CPA firm in Orange County, California. This project is an example of how to work virtually, since the entire process from proposal to publication was completed before we had the opportunity to meet with our clients in person. The process followed a predictable process, based on the solution we have developed for small and regional professional services firms. The site also demonstrates the value that our web content management solution, QuickFlex.NET, provides even for a smaller site – the firm’s marketing manager is able to make all content changes. The site is hosted within our secure data center.
